Grand Opening of St. Clara’s
Todd, Heidi, and Alexis travelled recently to Lincoln, IL to celebrate the grand opening of St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care. The project provides two programs, short-term rehab and long-term skilled nursing care, both providing 24-hour support for residents in a warm and comfortable environment. A ribbon cutting ceremony brought together the mayor of Lincoln, IL Seth Goodman, owners, board members, staff and many others.
St. Clara’s provides a warm, encouraging atmosphere for residents to socialize with each other and family visitors while still enjoying the comforts of their own home. Each resident has access to a variety of spaces, including activity rooms, sunrooms, a library, several dining and café options, a chapel, a salon and spa. The building also includes a light-filled physical therapy suite for both in-patient and out-patient rehab services. Included in the physical therapy gym is a space allowing short-term residents to test strength and independence in a safe and guided atmosphere before returning home.
Incorporating principles of biophilia, St. Clara’s is designed with the idea that interacting with plant life and nature strengthens the desire to create human connection. The building features three living walls that incorporate plants and skylights bringing the outdoors inside. It also features five specifically-designed gardens which provide therapeutic recreation space for residents.
WJW is proud to have been a team member on this project!
