Heidi serves as panel moderator at 2020 Illinois Affordable Housing Forum

Heidi recently represented WJW as the moderator for the Achievements in Design and Construction panel at this year's Illinois Affordable Housing Forum, hosted by the Illinois Housing Council.

Focused on new achievements in design and construction of affordable housing, the conversation touched on the challenges in balancing the desires to create housing that is healthy, resilient, and achieves higher levels of sustainability while also working to address rising construction costs. Panelists discussed the need to evaluate the life cycle cost of the building versus focusing only on first costs as a way to evaluate the inclusion of advanced building technologies, potentially resulting in operational savings over the lifespan of the building.
