Grand Opening of Clark-Estes Apartments

Todd and Jacquie recently attended the official grand opening of Clark-Estes Apartments, a new mixed-use development located in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. Once home to the now-demolished Adelphi Theater, the project site is located on a lot that has been vacant for over a decade. The transit-oriented development helps to heal the fragmented streetscape along Clark Street, providing a link between surrounding residential and commercial uses. The project is one of the first 100 percent affordable projects developed under the new Transit-Oriented Development ordinance in the City of Chicago.

Built by Walsh Construction, the project provides 54 units of affordable residential housing in a mix of studio, one, and two-bedroom units, with 20 parking spaces on site, resident access to a community courtyard and outdoor patio, and 3,350 square feet of first-floor retail space.

Designed with sustainability and energy-efficiency in mind, the project received a grant from ComEd to achieve certification by the Enterprise Green Communities Program.

Also attending the ceremony were members of the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA), the City of Chicago Department of Housing, 49th Ward Alderwoman Maria Hadden, former 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore, and Ross Financial Services.

WJW is proud to have been a team member on this project!
