Silver Birch of Mansfield Groundbreaking

The first of many affordable senior housing projects across Ohio breaks ground

We are excited to share that construction of Silver Birch of Mansfield has begun! Todd recently travelled to Ohio for a groundbreaking ceremony with our project partners, Vermilion Development, Silver Birch Living, and ARCO/Murray. Also attending were Mansfield Mayor Jodie Perry, Ohio State Senator Mark Romanchuk, and Barbara Richards, director of multi-family housing at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.

Silver Birch of Mansfield is the first of many Ohio projects that will provide affordable assisted living for seniors. The three-story building will have a mix of studio and one-bedroom apartments, as well as amenities such as a wellness suite complete with salon, physical therapy & fitness center, onsite laundry, library, community and activity rooms, a dining room serving three meals per day, covered front porches, and an outdoor recreation area with covered gazebos, a patio, benches, and walking paths.

WJW was integral in the planning process, providing guidance gleaned from our experiences doing post-occupancy evaluations for senior housing. For Mansfield and the other Silver Birch projects, WJW worked closely with the State of Ohio to craft and implement a range of best-practices for affordable senior living.

WJW is proud to be an instrumental part of a years-long endeavor that will ultimately provide housing and wraparound services for thousands of low-income seniors in Ohio. A big thank you to all of our partners on the Silver Birch projects!
