Grand Opening of Silver Birch of Muncie
Michelle recently attended the grand opening celebration for Silver Birch of Muncie, located in Muncie, Indiana. Many local area officials and community members came out to tour and celebrate the completed project, including the Mayor of Muncie, Mr. Dennis Tyler, and the Director of the Muncie Redevelopment Commissions, Mr. Todd Donati, as well as the owners, operators, investors, staff, and many other team members.
The 119-unit residential care facility provides local area seniors a new option for high-quality, affordable, assisted living in a welcoming, home-like environment. Silver Birch of Muncie offers private residences along with a variety of amenities designed to foster social interactions while still allowing for privacy and dignity. Studio and one-bedroom units are juxtaposed with community spaces like the art studio, billiard room, game room, library, wellness suite, beauty salon, as well as a number of resident lounges. The formal dining room has open access to a patio overlooking a landscaped courtyard with views out to the existing tree line along the banks of the White River. Additionally, the front cafe and living room provide comfortable, cozy living spaces situated around a central hearth, which also provide additional outdoor connectivity through access to the covered front porch where residents can observe the comings-and-goings of the community.
Overall, the building has been well received in the community, and WJW is happy to have been a team member on the project. The expression of one of the first residents to move in sums it up well, "I ain't ever been to Heaven, but I believe this place is close."
