WJW visits Floral Avenue Apartments
WJW staff recently visited Floral Avenue Apartments, Impact Behavioral Health Partners' new development in downtown Skokie, which will soon provide 16 units of permanent supportive housing for people living with mental illness along with commercial space.
In a tour led by Todd and Alexandra, the WJW team learned more about the approach to the building’s site in Skokie along with the project itself, and were able to observe the different components of the building in progress – from steel to exterior masonry to insulation currently present on site – as well as structural connections and the rough-in of the MEP systems.
The visit provided a great opportunity for the whole team to observe not only the progress of the building in person, but also to see the variety of different materials up at the same time before they are enclosed by drywall, giving first-hand insights into the construction process.
WJW is proud to be a team member on this important project, which will address a critical need in the community for affordable, long-term housing for a vulnerable population.
