Shaun is an architectural designer with extensive experience shaping K-12 learning environments across the Upper Midwest. He thrives on transforming high-occupancy public spaces into places where communities want to gather, learn, and interact everyday. At WJW, he brings this community-driven mindset to design thoughtful, purposeful affordable housing.

Extensive on-site experience and a deep understanding of complex building codes for every phase of design, from Design Development to Construction Administration. Throughout his career, Shaun's primary focus has been working within existing buildings. He thrives on solving the unexpected structural and spatial puzzles that arise during additions, MEP upgrades, and major interior renovations.

Research Interests

Exploring the historical friction within public infrastructure to find ways to break down rigid architectural boundaries. Shaun focuses on the Täglich - the everyday, lived experiences shared between physical spaces and the human body. Through this lens, Shaun aims to reimagine static structures as fluid, human-centric neighborhood hubs.

Passionate About

Outside of the office, Shaun is fascinated by how politics and urban spaces collide, often looking to the tangible arts as a vehicle for honest storytelling. He’s a believer in slow, hands-on craftsmanship - there is nothing quite like the messy, deliberate process of sewing garments, woodworking, or concrete material casting. Striving to escape the tech environment, catch him jogging at Horner Park, dancing at the SmartBar, or reading at Osterman Beach (weather permitting).

To design for the public is to understand that cities are inherently political, inherently
messy, and inherently human. Our job is to use physical craftsmanship to break down
rigid barriers and build up civic trust.
