Hope Manor Garden Project

Members of the WJW staff spent a recent Friday afternoon helping to set up a new garden plot for resident use on the grounds of Hope Manor I Apartments, a project completed by WJW for the Volunteers of America of Illinois in cooperation with the Illinois Housing Development Authority and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.

Located in West Humboldt Park in Chicago, Hope Manor I is one of the first large-scale, supportive housing developments specifically designed for Veterans in the City of Chicago. With a mission that goes beyond simply providing housing, the goal of Hope Manor is to help veterans improve their lives over the long-term by promoting self-sufficiency, building new skills, and creating strong support networks. WJW is proud to continue to contribute to these efforts with this garden build-out project, and the group had a great time in the process!
