WJW hosts Spring Break intern Trenton Werner

WJW recently hosted Trenton Werner from the University of Michigan for a spring break internship.

Over the course of the week, Trenton was able to study issues & trends in senior and affordable housing and gain an understanding of WJW’s current work and office culture. Trenton met with various members of the firm to discuss precedents and articles pertaining to the firm’s design work, and was asked to redesign a courtyard and connecting commons spaces from a current WJW project.

In order to collect design inspiration, he spent time photographing and sketching buildings around Chicago, including the Poetry Foundation and the Little Italy Branch Library. The week concluded with a Friday afternoon presentation and farewell reception, in which Trenton presented a thoughtful courtyard design which synthesized the insights into senior living and affordable housing he developed throughout the week.

Thanks for joining us for a great week, Trenton!
