WJW visits The Plant

WJW had the pleasure to tour a local urban farm called The Plant.

The Plant is an innovative food business incubator and vertical farm located in a former pork processing facility. Jackie Weise, The Plant’s Auxiliary Board President, led WJW on a tour around the adaptively reused industrial building. She showed us the technology behind the closed-loop model of material reuse and energy conservation, the various tenants, ranging from Whiner Beer Company to Pleasant House Bakery, and explained how they all work together to reduce waste.

Make sure you check out The Plant in the Back of the Yards neighborhood of Chicago!
