WJW Welcomes Summer Intern Jocelyn Hernandez!

WJW is pleased to introduce our summer intern, Jocelyn!

Jocelyn was awarded an AIA Chicago Foundation Diversity Scholarship Merit Award and is a current student at UIC pursing her Masters in Architecture. She is the eldest of 6 kids, a first generation Mexican American, and first generation college student. Jocelyn earned her bachelor's degree in Visual and Media Arts from the University of Richmond, Virginia on a full ride Merit scholarship. She is also a licensed real estate agent and works in property management.

She is spending the summer at WJW learning aspects of the profession in practice. One of her projects has been to work on a post-occupancy evaluation for a permanent supportive housing project. She has also had the opportunity to accompany staff on punch list site visits, and is participating with our Volunteer Committee to run a summer architecture workshop for teens.

Jocelyn's internship will run through August, and then she will return to school, with the goal of eventually earning her AIA license. We are so happy to have Jocelyn on board this summer and are grateful for her valuable contributions!
