Groundbreaking for Access Health and Housing

Todd and Joi recently attended the groundbreaking celebration for Access Health and Housing in Maywood, where construction began last spring.

The latest under IFF’s Home First Program, the development will consist of newly constructed community-integrated housing within six new buildings on vacant sites acquired through the Cook County Land Bank, providing 20 accessible and affordable homes in a mix of three- and four-flats for persons with disabilities. Additionally, one of the buildings will provide a clinic/wellness center to be operated by development partner Trinity Health. Funding for the development came from IHDA’s Permanent Supportive Housing program.

Also in attendance at the event were State Representative Emanuel “Chris” Welch, Speaker of the House, 7th District, Village of Maywood Mayor Nathaniel George Booker, IHDA Executive Director Kristin Faust, Trinity Health / Loyola Medicine, Blackwood Construction Group, and Joe Neri, Kirby Burkholder, Dena Bell, James Vinyard, Leticia Valencia, and John Kuhnen from IFF.

WJW is proud to be a team member on this important project, which will address a critical need in the community for affordable, accessible housing and supportive services.
