Michelle attends BEDS Plus Summit Service Center renovation launch

Michelle recently attended the Renovation Launch for the BEDS Plus Summit Service Center, representing WJW at the event.

The Summit Service Center project involves the conversion of a commercial building to office & service facility space, as well as interim housing/emergency shelter for individuals in Summit, Illinois. The development will include a 24-bed medical respite shelter for medically vulnerable, literally homeless individuals as well as day services for residents and community members at-large, which include mental health services, on-site medical clinic, and housing services.  The facility will assist approximately 250 low income homeless and area residents annually.

The event was well attended by the Village President Sergio Rodriguez, Village Trustrees Aleco Julius & Mayra Ortiz, Sylvia Parham from the Cook County Department of Economic Development, BEDS Plus staff, community partners from Pillars Community Health and Alliance to End Homelessness, and many generous supporters of BEDS Plus, including Linda Sokol Francis, who will be honored as the service center’s namesake.
