Construction Wraps Up on Hamlin Avenue Apartments

Permanent supportive housing in southern Cook County

We are excited to share that construction is substantially complete on Hamlin Avenue Apartments, a 25-unit permanent supportive housing (PSH) building in Alsip, Illinois.

The two-story building will offer apartments for people receiving support from Sertoma Star Services, an organization in the southwest suburbs that serves adults living with mental illness or disabilities and their families. The design of the building was informed by the PSH post-occupancy evaluations completed by WJW in 2024, with the intent of being responsive to the specific needs of residents and staff.

The building was designed to fit seamlessly into the surrounding suburban residential neighborhood, with a generous front porch and resident courtyard. Its location in the community is ideal, offering residents easy walking and transit access to jobs, education, and other services.
