Project Spotlight: Lanam Rapp Building
Permanent supportive housing in Skokie
Today we'd like to spotlight our collaboration with Impact Behavioral Health Partners and the Lanam Rapp Building that was recently completed. This project was many years in the making and is now providing vital housing and behavioral health services to adults recovering from chronic mental illness and at risk of homelessness. Check out the project profile here.
Impact was founded in 1988 to address the housing need for adults living with mental illness. WJW has partnered with Impact on several projects, including Impact Laramie, a rehab project currently under construction.
The Lanam Rapp Building is the first new construction project that WJW has created with Impact. The from-scratch design gave us the opportunity to implement trauma-informed design principles and provide beautiful, naturally lit residential and community spaces, as well as prime commercial space on the first floor.

Hats off to Impact for the crucial work they do, and we would also like to thank Impact staff for opening the doors of the Lanam Rapp building so that we could conduct post-occupancy evaluations to inform our future design work on permanent supportive housing projects.
