Women in Green Building Lunch

A gathering of industry leaders

Heidi, Elizabeth, Jane, and Michelle recently attended the Women in Green Building Leadership Luncheon organized by the Illinois Green Alliance. The event was held at Maggiano's in Little Italy and featured speakers Marnese Jackson of the Midwest Building Decarbonization Coalition, Nancy Kohout of SmithGroup, Patty Lloyd of Leopardo Construction, Madeline Semanisin of the Natural Resources Defense Council, and moderator Jill Maltby-Abbott.

This year's theme was "Growing Your Impact." According to the IGA, "despite the challenges, there is no one better equipped to advocate for sustainable policy action than building industry professionals themselves—who are driving innovation and raising the bar on the next generation of green building practices." Here at WJW, Michelle is the chair of our Sustainability Committee and oversees WJW's progress toward the AIA 2030 Commitment. Many of our projects have earned various green building certifications, and many more are on the boards!
