Spring Lake Senior Residences Complete with NGBS Bronze Certification!

Exciting news from Lansing!

WJW is thrilled to announce that construction of Spring Lake Senior Residences is complete! Not only that, the project achieved a 2020 National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Bronze Certification and met the rigorous standards of the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program Multi-Family Standard!

Construction of the 37 townhomes for seniors was completed in September and the new houses are now fully occupied. Spring Lake is a unique project in that the homes are situated along a spring-fed lake and also adjacent to the St. Anthony Supportive Living Facility. The townhomes provide affordable independent senior living with access to select services from St. Anthony's, as well as a distinctive lakefront recreation area. Residents can take advantage of walking paths along the lake, a dock and fishing pier, a pavilion, picnic areas with grills, and a natural playscape for children in their families.

The project's sustainable features are too numerous to list, but highlights include energy-efficient lighting, appliances, HVAC, water heating systems, and windows. The design also centers on health and wellness and connection to community for its senior residents. Features like lakefront views, front porches, benches on walking paths, and community gathering spaces make it easy for residents to socialize and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Congratulations to all who contributed to this project!
