Project Architect Academy

A peek behind the scenes with our staff

WJW takes particular pride in organizing robust professional development offerings for our staff. Like any architectural firm, we have the usual lunch and learns, but our Education Committee also creates in-house training opportunities on a regular basis. One of these is Project Architect (PA) Academy, a training series for architectural designers on the cusp of becoming project architects. Topics range from life safety plans and planning principles to deep dives into an aspect of building science, such as walls or roofs. The series is run collaboratively, with partners and senior project managers taking turns leading the sessions. Unlike the more formal training in architecture school, this is an opportunity for those working in the field with many years of experience to pass on time-tested know-how and mentor staff in the early years of their careers, with many case studies from our past projects.
