Liezel presents at Project Exploration
Liezel recently gave a presentation to Project Exploration on the final day of their STEM summer camp, discussing the field of Architecture, what she does as an Architect, and how her workspace looks.
A STEM learning opportunity for students in grades K-8, Project Exploration’s mission is to create transformative learning experiences, pathways, and a community for youth underrepresented in STEM; especially low-income students, students of color and young women, allowing them to explore STEM careers and equip them with the necessary skills, practices, and mindset needed for lifelong learning.
As part of her presentation, Liezel spoke about the future Mildred Wiley Wellness Hub (MWWH) that will soon be part of the Bethel New Life campus and led a discussion on the many dimensions of health and wellness. Students were asked what kinds of plants they would like to grow in the gardens and greenhouse of the Mildred Wiley Wellness Hub, what kinds of classes they would like to take there, and created collages representing what health and wellness means to them.
WJW is pleased to share about Liezel’s participation with Project Exploration, and proud to be part of the efforts to help design and bring the Mildred Wiley Wellness Hub to life!
