Jane's Paintings at Firecat Projects!

"The Sound of the L" will be up through the end of January.

Alongside being an architect at WJW for some 14 years, Jane is also a watercolor painter. Her latest series, "The Sound of the L," is on exhibit now at Firecat Projects in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood!

According to Jane, "the series is a love letter to Chicago’s elevated train system. It captures neighborhood landmarks, which live in the shadow of 'L' stations, historic 'L' stations and views from 'L' stations."

Jane did not paint these scenes from photographs; she visited the sites in-person to sketch and paint from a sidewalk view, which gives them the feel of what you would see strolling around Chicago's neighborhoods.

Jane is also a member of the international Urban Sketchers group and has led WJW on several urban sketching forays near our offices in River North.
