Women Build Fundraiser

Women of WJW (WOW) have an exciting announcement!

WJW is pleased to announce that we have formed a team of nine women staff members and one our consultants for the Women Build program! Women Build is an opportunity for hundreds of women to come together to advance the construction of homes for Habitat for Humanity. In the months leading up to the event, the teams raise money to help fund construction of the homes. Donate here!

Each Women Builder commits to building with her team for one full day of the event. For our project, there will be four houses constructed as part of Women Build, all located in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood in Chicago.

The life-changing benefits of affordable homeownership are immense: it improves school performance, improves financial outcomes, and enhances the health and well-being of children and adults – just to name a few. But due to gendered barriers like the pay gap and its impact on credit access, and uneven childcare responsibilities that limit time and financial resources, it can be far more difficult for a woman to own a home than a similarly situated man. This is a great opportunity for women to support women!

As a team we have committed to raise $8500 and we would be delighted to have your support. Women Build takes place throughout October. Please donate by the end of September to help us reach our goal!
