WJW welcomes John!
John joined WJW during the summer of 2019 after completing his Master of Architecture degree at the University of Michigan.
John also completed his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the last year of which he spent studying at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura del Vallés in Catalunya.
While in school, John studied the relationship between vernacular architecture and ever-changing urban environments in a series of Detroit-based projects. He also examined the link between human emotion and the built environment by sketching the architecture of Mexico City every day for one month.
During his graduate studies John worked as a tutor/consultant helping students complete a wide variety of design/engineering projects. John completed his master’s thesis in the Spring of 2019, which sought to reimagine design of contemporary public schools.
In his free time, John enjoys cooking and drawing things that are not buildings.
Welcome to the team, John!
