Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

A meal train for those in need

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, WJW's Volunteer Committee was proud to host our first MLK Day of Service — a meaningful opportunity to give back to our community. We participated in the Meal Train for BEDS Plus, supporting their efforts to provide nutritious meals and essential food items for individuals and families in need. Meal Train is an organized volunteer effort where participants sign up to donate meals, gift cards, or shelf-stable items to help feed those facing food insecurity.

Staff prepped 50 lunches, baked cookies, donated money, and wrote handwritten notes to accompany the meals, which were delivered to BEDS Plus in La Grange.

BEDS Plus coordinates the delivery of about 450 meals per week. More info here: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/rwww62
