Las Rosas Groundbreaking
Community Integrated Supportive Housing
Construction has begun on the Las Rosas project in Aurora, IL! Heidi, Liezel, and Mariah recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony. This transformative project will create 20 units of permanent supportive housing located on the existing Iglesia San Pablo campus. The existing school will be converted into 10 apartment units with unique resident amenity spaces and an additional 10 apartments units will be constructed on the former parking lot. When completed residents will enjoy an indoor gymnasium with half court basketball court and community gathering space. They will also have access to an on-site bowling alley that will remain operational and open to the public as well. The development will serve clients through a collaborative partnership with AID (Association for Individual Development), The Neighbor Project, and Hesed House. Las Rosas will provide independent one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as essential resident common spaces and dedicated social service areas that support long-term stability and wellness.
The project will be funded primarily through Permanent Supportive Housing funding from the Illinois Housing Development Authority, along with additional financing including a grant from federal sources. This layered capital structure ensures the development can provide deeply affordable housing with comprehensive on-site services for residents transitioning from homelessness or housing instability into stable, permanent homes.
The groundbreaking ceremony included remarks from Lore Baker, President and CEO of AID. Congratulations to our project partners on a successful start! We look forward to seeing this unique and impactful project take shape.
