Hope Manor Village achieves Enterprise Green Communities Certification
Hope Manor Village has earned Enterprise Green Communities Certification!
Located in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, the project is part of a multi-phase development by Volunteers of America Illinois to address disinvestment in the area. Completed in 2021, Hope Manor Village brings new high-quality affordable scattered-site housing to 16 formerly vacant lots in the surrounding blocks of Hope Manor II, a campus-style, permanent supportive housing community for Veterans and their families.
Enterprise Green Communities is the only national green building program designed explicitly for affordable housing construction, demonstrating a holistic approach to green affordable housing. The award-winning Hope Manor Village was designed with sustainability and energy-efficiency in mind, including high insulation values for the exterior walls and roof, LED lighting, Energy Star appliances and windows, low-flow plumbing fixtures and high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment.
WJW is pleased to have been a team member on this healthy, sustainable project!
