Women Build Volunteering Day

This was no ordinary site visit!
WJW's Women Build team recently spent a day volunteering at Habitat for Humanity's build site in Chicago's Austin neighborhood. And we had a blast! The site includes three single-family homes with detached garages, and our team was set to work doing quality control on the drywall installation and installing home wrap. One of the future homeowners joined our team and spend the day working with us - she will be the first person in her extended family to own a home.
During the lunch break, we had a chance to sign the studs of one of the houses and socialize with a cat who was supervising the site. Then it was back to work scaling the scaffolding and installing home wrap!
Women Build is a fundraiser that runs every October. This year, the program raised nearly $700,000 and hosted 500 Women Builders, including our team of ten. We are thrilled to share that our team alone raised $12,071 - far above our original goal of $8,500! A heartfelt thank you to all of our donors, and to Nancy Ferrini of Larson Engineering and Chrissy Ferrantelli of Brush Hill Development for joining our team!
