Research Interests
Exploring the ethereal idea of “home” and how that relates to a physical place, manifested in two series of watercolor paintings titled "This is Home." The most recent series was completed in conjunction with WJW and explores the opportunities and challenges for older adults in creating a sense of “home” in senior living communities. The research explores the emotions that are evoked by the places we live, the comfort we derive from home, the special objects we keep in our homes, and the way we talk about our homes. Jane was invited to present this work at AIA Chicago and at the Environments for Aging conference.
